Thoughts on Great Expectations (stage)

I finally know what Great Expectations is about.

As a child, I’d tried to read this classic by Charles Dickens but I didn’t make it beyond the first chapters and was daunted to ever try again so I jumped at the chance to watch people playing it out before me. This was my first play in the UK and I was pretty excited. The review will really be lumping production, book and experience since it’ll be the first proper time I come into contact with Great Expectations, so it’ll be completely subjective.

Warning: This review may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.

Catching Up

Wow. I realised I never wrote anything in March at all. That’s good and bad, I guess. Good, cos it means I’ve been busy IRL and enjoying it enough to not rant and stuff. Bad, cos I want to write it all down and remember everything.

It’s halfway into the Easter holidays now and the flat is pretty empty again but that’s ok. Jon is in Spain and Krystal is travelling everywhere. Ruth’s parents came and they’re bringing her around Europe. Vicki’s leaving in a bit to travel around UK. Ryan just came back from Ireland and he’ll be hanging around the rest of the hols. I’m mostly around the flat except for the church conference I’ll be heading for soon.

The churchies have also left. A group of them went to Ireland to catch the lights. Some went home to visit and stuff. Getting really empty there too.

Went to mosey about the city a bit. The weather is getting better, more sun. When the sun comes out, it’s absolutely glorious. I went to town on that wonderfully sunny day by myself and had a lovely time poking about here and there and just getting lost in everything. Gave in and had a traditional milk tea bubble tea. It satisfied all my cravings. So yummy. Went and raided Primark too. Love all my spoils.

I’d been up to a lot too, without the long haul travels, but I want to write them separately.

Just for my train of thought, in chronological order:

  • Great Expectations (stage/play) review
  • Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (stage/musical) review
  • Zootopia/Zootropolis review
  • Singing Lessons
  • Day in Liverpool
  • All of my shopping/food spoils
  • Cooking

With any luck, I’ll be able to write up on all of these huehue.
